Naomi Nevill Profile
I have always been attracted to interesting patterns and vivid colour combinations, enamelling and engraving captivated me for that reason.
Engraving creates a glittering, textured pattern, vitreous enamels give the rich translucent colour. Both enamelling and engraving are heritage crafts, they can take a lifetime to master and have changed little in hundreds of years.
My workshop has a classic jewellers bench as I use many traditional jewellery techniques to create my pieces, I enjoy all aspects of the field but my main interests are enamelling, metal forming and wax carving. Despite creating contemporary pieces, I believe mastering fundamental jewellery making skills to be crucial for high quality timeless pieces.
My love for designing, wax carving and doing detailed paintings of my pieces, has lead to commissions from large companies such as Annoushka Jewellery, Denzil Skinner and Chalfen of London.
I graduated from UCA Rochester in 2014 receiving an upper second class honours. Since then I have received many awards for jewellery design and making along with a Queen Elizabeth creative scholarship.
